Regions

Plexivo runs your resources in Mumbai, India, and keeps a second copy of your database backups in Hyderabad.

A region is the place your resources run. Today every Plexivo resource runs in Mumbai, India, the default region.

Choosing a region#

Every create form has a Region step. It lists the regions your organisation can use; regions that are planned but not yet open are shown and cannot be chosen. When the project you chose already has a region, the resource goes there.

Where backups go#

Database backups are kept in Mumbai and copied to Hyderabad, so a disaster in one city cannot take both your database and its backups. Both cities are in India. See Data residency.

For developers#

The public catalogue at GET https://api.plexivo.io/api/v1/reference lists the regions, with each one’s city, country and whether it can be selected. Use it rather than writing region names into your code.
