Data residency
Your apps, databases and their backups stay in India: they run in Mumbai, and backups are copied to Hyderabad.
Plexivo keeps your data in India. Your apps, databases, caches and Kubernetes workloads run in Mumbai. Database backups are kept in Mumbai and copied to Hyderabad, so a disaster in one city cannot take both. Your apps, databases and their backups never leave India.
Where each kind of data lives#
| Data | Where it lives |
|---|---|
| Your apps, databases, caches and Kubernetes workloads | Mumbai, India |
| Backups of your databases | Mumbai, copied to Hyderabad. Both in India |
| Your account, billing and audit records | India |
Every new account acknowledges this at sign-up, and Plexivo keeps a record of that acknowledgement.
Services you choose to use#
Some features work with services outside your resources, only when you use them:
- Plexivo AI sends what you ask it, and what it needs to plan, to its AI model providers.
- Git providers you connect, such as GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, serve the repositories you choose to deploy.
- Emails Plexivo sends you, such as sign-in codes, alerts and invoices, go through an email delivery provider.
The Privacy page lists who helps us run Plexivo and where. Plexivo never uses the contents of your apps or databases to train AI models.
Your apps’ own users#
When your apps keep personal data about their users in Plexivo, you decide what is collected and why. Plexivo processes it only to run your services, as your processor under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
When data is deleted#
- A deleted database’s backups are kept for 7 days by default, then deleted permanently.
- Owners and admins can export the organisation’s data in Settings → Data & danger, and the owner can ask there for the organisation to be deleted. Invoices, the billing ledger and legally required verification records are kept for the period the law requires.
