Plexivo App Runner

Run web apps and APIs from Git or a container image, with HTTPS, autoscaling and health checks, in Mumbai.

Plexivo App Runner runs your web app, API or worker from a Git repository or a container image. Each app gets its own HTTPS address, health checks, autoscaling and a release history you can roll back. Your apps run in Mumbai, India.

How a deploy works#

  1. Source. You push to your branch, or give Plexivo a container image.
  2. Image. From Git, Plexivo builds an image: with your Dockerfile if the repository has one, otherwise by detecting your language. From an image, Plexivo copies it into its own registry. Either way, the image is signed before it runs.
  3. Release. New instances start and receive traffic only once their health check passes. The current release keeps serving until then.
  4. Safety net. If a new release never becomes ready, Plexivo rolls back to the release that was serving.

Your address#

Every public app gets an HTTPS address on plexivo.app, made from its name: web.plexivo.app. If the name is taken, Plexivo adds six characters, as in web-3f9a1c.plexivo.app. The address is chosen once. Renaming the app later changes only its label.

Plexivo issues and renews the certificate. To serve the app on your own domain, see Custom domains.

Built-in protection#

  • Every instance runs isolated from every other customer’s workloads.
  • Every public app has Plexivo Shield: a rate limit, a request size limit and IP rules at the edge.
  • An app can be private, with no public address at all.
  • Every change is recorded in your organisation’s audit log.

What each plan includes#

These are the defaults for each plan. Settings → Limits & quotas shows the limits that apply to your organisation.

What you pay#

An app is priced per instance, by its size. It is charged to your wallet by the day for the time it runs. Instances that autoscaling adds cost the same and are charged only while they run. Build minutes beyond your plan’s are charged per minute. Prices are on the pricing page; how charging works is in Plans and billing.

For startups Start on the Developer plan or the 14-day free trial, deploy from GitHub in a few clicks, and move to Startup when you need more instances. Your apps, addresses and settings stay the same.

Automate with the API#

Everything in the console is also in the Plexivo API at https://api.plexivo.io/api/v1. Create an API key in Settings → API keys; a key with the default read and write permissions can read and change your apps.

bash
export PLEXIVO_TOKEN=plx_live_… # your API key
API=https://api.plexivo.io/api/v1

# Your organisation's id
curl -s $API/tenants -H "Authorization: Bearer $PLEXIVO_TOKEN"

# Its apps, databases and caches
curl -s $API/tenants/$ORG/deployments -H "Authorization: Bearer $PLEXIVO_TOKEN"

Apps are the deployments with "type": "app". The pages in this section show the API call beside each console step.
