Create a Plexivo Cache
Choose a name, a size, what happens when memory is full and how data is kept, and see the price before you create.
A new Plexivo Cache is ready in a few minutes, with TLS and a generated password from the start.
Create it#
- Start. Choose Create, then Plexivo Cache.
- Name it. Enter the Cache name: 3 to 40 lowercase letters, digits and dashes, starting with a letter. Under Version, the recommended version is selected for you.
- Choose its size and behaviour. Under Size and behaviour, pick the Cache size, from 256 MB to 64 GB; When memory is full; and Persistence: AOF, Snapshot or None. See Plexivo Cache for what each means.
- Check the price and create. The Estimated monthly cost is shown before you create. Plexivo charges it by the day.
Persistence and the eviction policy are set when you create the cache. To change them, create a new cache with the settings you want and point your app at it.
Choose well#
| For | When memory is full | Persistence |
|---|---|---|
| Page and query cache | allkeys-lru | None or Snapshot |
| Sessions | volatile-lru, with an expiry on each session | AOF |
| Job queues | noeviction | AOF |
| Rate limits and counters | allkeys-lfu | AOF |
For startups The smallest size, 256 MB with 1,000 client connections, is plenty for sessions and caching in a first product. Resize from Settings as you grow.
