Logs and metrics

Read your Plexivo App Runner app’s recent output, and watch its requests, latency, CPU and memory for every instance.

Each app has three places to look: Overview for its health right now, Metrics for trends, and Logs for what it printed.

Overview#

  • Requests · 24 hours, measured at the Plexivo edge, and Latency · p99, the slowest 1% of requests.
  • CPU used and Memory used across instances.
  • Instances: each one’s status, whether it is ready, its restarts, CPU, memory and age.
  • Serving now: the release that is live.

A rising Restarts count usually means the app is crashing or failing its health check. Check its logs next.

Logs#

Write your logs to standard output or standard error. The Logs tab shows up to 100 lines, or 64 KiB, from the last 15 minutes, across the app’s current instances. Choose refresh to read the latest. Output from replaced instances is not shown.

Anyone in your organisation who can view the app can read its logs. Plexivo reads them live from your instances and does not store them.

bash
curl -s $API/tenants/$ORG/deployments/$APP/logs/recent \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $PLEXIVO_TOKEN"
Keep the history you needFor logs you must keep for weeks, or search across apps, send them from your app to a logging service you choose. Write one line per event, in JSON if you can.

Metrics#

The Metrics tab charts:

  • Requests per second
  • Latency p99
  • CPU · of vCPU bought, as a percentage of the vCPU you bought
  • Memory, as a percentage

Charts start a few minutes after the app begins serving.

For every resource in your organisation at once, open Observability. Its Alerts tab sets up alert rules and where they are sent, and SLA & Uptime shows measured availability.

When something is wrong#

  1. Deployments. Did the latest build fail? Its reason and output are on the Deployments tab.
  2. Logs. Is the app printing an error as it starts?
  3. Health check. Does the path answer with 2xx or 3xx, on the port in PORT?
  4. Ask. On the Overview tab, choose Ask the agent to investigate to ask Plexivo AI about it.
